I drove Sadie.  to meet Missy who was the first leg to Newport TN. She had Socrates and Bentley in the back of her Tahoe. I was sick with the Flu I couldn't take a peak.  It is always hard letting go of fosters.. especially one as loving and wonderful as Sadie.  The rescue wants to call her Sally so we have compromised on Sadie-Sally. I outfitted her with a Thundershirt and harness.  Being the flight risk she is hoping that this will keep her somewhat calm. There seems to be about 11 legs with an overnight in IN.
There is an older Boxer... Hammond joining the crew...saved in the final hour.  Now all safe in their respective fosters.  I love animal rescue people...Angels with clay feet we are...

On the Front Lines: Chaining Ordinances Work | Chaining Dogs | Cruel Practices | The Issues | PETA
Sent letter this am:

In reference to Patrick Irwin’s Chain Free Asheville letter:

A dog  chained is at risk for so many deaths and atrocities. They can be attacked by bears, other dogs,  Copperheads, and worst of all by human beings.  A dog chained has no way to escape a pot of boiling water, a baseball bat, a car, a knife, gasoline and a match  or a gun. They are doomed to starve to death or die of thirst in unrelenting heat or a freezing winter.  They may have a shelter to escape rain and  blazing sun or they may have nothing more then a car to lie beneath  parked near their cinderblock where they are chained. They may be an older dog who has somehow managed to survive years of neglect or the may be a 12-week-old Pit Bull puppy padlocked to logger chain.

There are many, many  people who love their dogs and because of finances have no other way to keep a dog except on a chain as keeping a dog in the house (for whatever reason) is not an option. These human beings  are open and receptive to organizations like Chain Free Asheville and welcome an opportunity to reduce the suffering of their animals.

There are others  who have no heart  and have dogs simply to torture, eat (dog eating is happening in the US),   bark at strangers or law enforcement. They can walk past a starving dog into the safety of their dwelling eating a Big Mac and think nothing of the poor animal that will be dead soon from starvation, dehydration, worms and exposure to the elements. These are the ones that  dogs and all animals need to be protected from.

The Newest Pet Scams

The Newest Pet Scams
Seems to be more and more bogus, scamming groups calling themselves rescue popping up all over the country. Trying to think of a how to go about making a plan to contact the state general attorney and asking if there can be anything legally done to enforce legal charges to those pulling dogs for narfarious purposes. Over 30 dogs went missing from a "pull" to a "rescue" recently from Lincoln Co. NC and last week 14 dogs are missing that were pulled from Lee County SC by a RRR service dog and rescue out of Clarksville TN.
She has been arrested and is out on bail.  See below.

"Animal cruelty charges brought against the founder of a nonprofit organization in Clarksville that claims to rescue dogs and train them for disabled soldiers brought about outrage, accusations and demands for answers Friday as people from several states tried to figure what might have happened to animals they put in her care."

Nicole A. Hulbig, 29, director of RRR Service Dogs was arrested Thursday night on four counts of aggravated animal cruelty a day after Montgomery County Animal Control officers found four dead, decomposing puppies at her Clarksville home and arrested her husband on the same charges.
